Puppy Essentials Private Course - If you are beginning that special relationship with a new puppy,
Flint Hill K-9 Training can get you started. Teach your new family member how to adapt to life in a
human pack the moment you bring him or her home. Learning early on what is considered acceptable
behavior in your home can help prevent behavior problems in the future. In our four-session Puppy
Essentials Course you will learn positive techniques to motivate your puppy and build his or her
confidence. You will also learn about puppy development and methods to help with such issues as
house-training, nipping, barking, crate training, jumping, and chewing. Your puppy will learn to walk
nicely on a leash, to come, sit, down, watch, and leave it. For puppies 8-16 weeks at the start of the
first session. Your puppy must have had their first vaccinations and have been examined by a
veterinarian and be in good health. Additional 10% discount for shelter/rescue puppies - just show your
adoption papers at the first session.
Board & Train - Your dog can come stay with Flint Hill K-9 and go through our extensive program of
positive leadership establishment, obedience, & good manners. This program is for dogs 16 weeks and
older. At the intake appointment, we will interview you (and your dog!) to discover what issues are
most important to you and to register your dog for his/her stay. You will receive a 3-hour instructional
session and a customized training manual at the end of your dog's stay to teach you how to continue to
reinforce the commands learned, and a 1-2 hour follow-up session two weeks later to fine-tune your
new training skills and to cover any questions you may have in-depth. Program length is 3 weeks and
covers all of the following (all basic obedience is on leash unless enrolled in specific advanced off leash
program):
- positive leadership establishment
- sit & down w/hand signals
- watch/attention exercise
- coming when called
- walking on a loose leash and sitting when owner stops

consultation required) - call for details. 10% discount for shelter/rescue dogs - just show your adoption
papers at the intake appointment.
Basic Obedience Private Sessions - We teach you how to work with your dog, creating training
sessions that are practical to everyday life. You will learn to teach your dog to become a well-
mannered, easy to live with life-long companion. You will leave each session armed with the tools you
need to communicate more effectively with your dog and build a relationship based on respect and
trust. All sessions are on-leash. You and your dog will learn commands such as walking on a loose
leash, sit, down, come, sit & down stays, place, a release command, and basic manners (not jumping
up, not digging, not bolting out of doors/gates, and more). Also covered are the importance of your role
as leader in your relationship with your dog and how to establish this; child safety and dogs; and more.
All sessions are held here on site. In some cases, the trainer may determine a need to conduct some or
all sessions in your home (a travel fee may apply for those outside of the service area which is a 15 mile
radius from our site). Discounts for multiple-lesson packages of 4, 6, 8, or 12 Sessions. Additional 10%
discount for shelter/rescue dogs - just show your adoption papers at the first session!
NOTE: All cases of aggression and other serious behavior problems involving fear or anxiety, for
example, require an initial behavior consultation. An obedience and behavior modification program is
then developed for you and your dog (usually a 4, 6, 8, or 12 session program). If you are unsure
whether your dog's behavior problems would be categorized as serious ones, feel free to call and we will
help you determine whether you need to schedule a behavior consultation first.
Semi-Private Lesson Packages: Know a couple of friends, family members, or neighbors that also
want training lessons with their dogs? You can schedule semi-private single lessons or a semi-private
multiple-lesson package. Each participant receives a 25% discount off the regular session/package
rate! - no other discounts apply. Minimum # of participants is 2, maximum is 4. All Basic Obedience
exercises & Good Manners (such as not jumping, not bolting out of doors & gates, not pulling on leash,
not digging, and some others) will be covered. Also covered are the importance of your role as leader in
your relationship with your dog and how to establish this. NOTE: All cases of aggression and other
serious behavior problems will not be covered. You may, however, schedule a private behavior
consultation and/or behavior modification sessions for you and your dog if you wish.
Behavior Consultation - This initial consultation is for the purpose of assessing behavior problems
you may be experiencing with your dog - issues such as dominance/leadership issues, aggression (all
types - minor or major), defiance/not listening to you, fearful behaviors, phobias, adult dog house-
soiling, and barking, among others. Our trainer can come to your home or you can come to us. Our
trainer will meet you and your dog and interview you and your family members in order to gather the
information needed to design an appropriate behavior modification program that will fit your needs. 10%
discount for shelter/rescue dogs - just show your adoption papers at the initial consultation.
Behavior Modification Programs- After an Initial Behavior Consultation (described above), a behavior
modification program is designed specifically to meet your needs. Each session is customized to address
the issues you and your trainer find most important. Your trainer works directly with you and your family
to finally manage and/or eliminate some of your most difficult doggie challenges. Cost varies according
to type of program developed. 10% discount for shelter/rescue dogs - just show your adoption papers
at the initial behavior consultation.
